As Promised: VS2005 Announcements

Having taken a brief blogging hiatus, I promised to post on some recent Visual Studio 2005 and related announcements. While anyone reading this may have heard from other sources, here they are, in no order:

• SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Included in Express Editions
• Visual Studio 2005 to be Release Week of November 7, 2005
• SQL Server 2005 Feature/Edition Comparison
• Visual Studio 2005 Team System Clinic for Decision Makers

I've lost some of the other items I wanted to report on, but I guess these will have to do. Personally, I think the first and second items carry the most weight. Built-in database server reporting functionality available in the Express edition of SQL is just awesome, even if it is limited. If I didn't know better, I'd say MS was trying to phase-out Access...

Otherwise, November won't get here soon enough...
